Our Rabbits
We raise both Silver Fox and Mini Lop rabbits. Our kids show with 4H and ARBA and we strive to produce rabbits that meet the Standards of Perfection for their breed. By attending shows, we can continue getting feedback that helps us produce better rabbits with each generation. For both the breeds we raise, a major goal with their breed standards is to produce rabbits with the best commercial value as a meat and fur animal. Breeding for show quality makes for better homestead rabbits destined for the dinner table just as much as it does those who are destined for the show table.

We produce black, blue, chocolate, lilac, REW and Alaska Red colors of the Silver Fox. At this time, only blacks and chocolates are accepted by the Silver Fox Standard of Perfection, with breeders working towards adding blue and broken varieties as well. We work hard to produce a line of show rabbits in black and chocolate, but we also like producing the other colors as well while maintaining the meat and fur qualities we expect from a Silver Fox.

Show Wins: BOB(2), BOV, BOSV(2), BOS, Best in Show Reserve Legs: 1
Howard Frank is a sweet, beautiful rabbit. He has 2 Best Opposite Breed wins and 1 Reserve in Show Show under his belt as well as a few Best Opposite Varieties. He has good type and excellent fur quality. He carries dilute and rew. Howard has spent the last month and a half in our air conditioned mudroom so that he is viable for breeding in early fall. We plan to breed him to our Silver Fox does for early October litters.

Arbor House Bob

Show Wins: BOB, BOS, BOSV Legs: 2
Bob and his littermates all had extraordinary growth rates. By 5 months, Bob was already 7.5# two littermates had reached 9.2# and 8.6#. Of the three, Bob had the most correct form and he won two legs at a show this spring. His largest brother, Joe, went on to help a fellow breeder increase size in her next generation. We're going to try breeding Bob for a spring litter and see how that goes.

Doug was a rabbit the boys saved back to show at the fair last fall, and he did well at the fair and then won a leg in our local NWARC rabbit show in November. We bred Doug to Mocha for a spring litter.
Pecan Creek Oreo
2023 Broken Black Buck
Oreo is arguably the cutest rabbit in the rabbitry with his spotted little face. He comes from a fellow breeder who produces lovely rabbits. Oreo carries chocolate and dilute and we can't wait to see lots of little spotted babies in the next boxes!

Static is still young and growing so he will be on our show lineup this spring to see how he does. We're working in the direction of developing blues with deeper coloration and good silvering so we hope that Static will help us on that journey.

Raven came from a Howard Frank litter out of a blue doe, Silver. Raven has a wonderful build, excellent depth of color, and is growing really well. He got Best of Variety in a show this spring, with lots of great comments from both judges.

Lila is our first lilac rabbit and she has wonderful depth. A daughter of Mr. Confetti, she is a classic example of a sire out-producing himself. Lila is a daughter of Daisy Mae and she has been producing nice rabbits, including an litter of 12 chocolate rabbits sired by Trufflehunter
Lila is for sale to make room for younger stock we are holding on to.

Wells Rocky Acre's Mocha
2022 Chocolate Doe
Mocha came in at the same time as Juniper and she has produced a nice litter for us and we plan on keeping her on to continue our chocolate lines and breeding her again for a spring litter. Mocha has produced kits with really nice, wide and straight hocks so we're keeping back a kit or two as show prospects this spring.

Bloopy is Alice's littermate and a wonderful blue with deep pigment in her fur and toenails. She won best of variety in two shows this fall in addition to her appearance in our county fair costume class dressed as a stegosaurus ;) We're keeping Bloopy to breed to some of our darker pigmented rabbits to keep those blue lines coming!

Alice is the daughter of Chunkybunky and granddaughter of Bunnywunny. We nearly lost Chunky in the heat this summer and she's now a house rabbit with some lingering disabilities. Alice is her mother's spitting image with a wide, blocky build so we've kept her on to continue our rew breeding lines.

Sadie is a lovely brood doe and she just weaned a large litter with some nice show prospects in it and we've got plans to breed her to Busker, our tort buck, so we can get some tort carrier babies to continue to cross with our torts for further genetic diversity as we work on deepening the rufus factor in the torts.

Liz was one of our spring 2022 litters. We saved back a bunch of kits to show this fall and Liz and her littermate Doug have both shown well. Liz was bred to Mousse (Chai's littermate) before he left for a new farm. She produced both black and chocolate kits, proving herself as a chocolate carrier and we're looking forward to getting some nice kits this year from her

After we lost our tort doe, Chili, and our tort carrying buck, Trufflehunter, Queso came in to help us continue our tort lines. We will breed her to Major Tom (Chili's son) this spring in hopes of getting some litters of tort babies.

Brandy is a sister to Judo, and she will be available after weaning her spring litter. She's bred to Oreo so we can get one step closer to having broken tort Silver Foxes.

Judo is one of Chili's kits that we have kept back to carry forward our original line of Alaska Red Fox rabbits. While we won't be breeding her to her brother, we will be able to produce tort carriers from her that can be crossed with kits out of Queso or Busker. She is a really nice large-bodied doe.

Serendipity is a lovely, large-bodied doe. She was part of our fall show lineup and she had a decent showing amongst a large class of rabbits. We'll be breeding her for a spring litter with hopes of producing some nice show rabbits for our fall shows this year.

BG is a nice, blocky buck with the classic mini lop "softball" head. have loved the tortoiseshell color in our Silver Foxes so we're excited to get to have tort mini lops as well. With the variations in colors of our mini lops and the colors in their pedigrees, we're likely to begin getting quite a bit of variation from the start.

Dahlia has excellent type and, like Betty, comes to us from a breeder in Washington. She has quite a lot of color in her pedigree as well, so we're hoping she carries some of the recessive colors so we can get lots of variety in our kits.

This doe came down from Washington state to help us get started with our mini lops. She's done really well at some shows and earned some grand champion legs so we're excited to breed her for a summer litter.

Previous Breeding Rabbits

We tragically lost a number of our breeding herd this summer.
In June, we lost Tila. It's hard in her case to know if it was just the heat that caused her death but it was a disappointment to lose her because she was an absolutely gorgeous rabbit who had done well at shows and Ben was excited to see her offspring on the show tables. Her breeder has a doe out of Tila's sister that we will be bringing in as her replacement.
We lost Bunnywunny the last week in June. She was our favorite rabbit of all time and we were absolutely gutted. We had plans to bring her inside to live out the rest of her life as a house rabbit and now we will never know if she would still be with us if we had done so sooner. We found her in great distress and worked for several hours to save her but she didn't make it. We held a funeral service attended by several friends and we had a daughter (Chunkybunky), son (Lil Frankie), granddaughter (Chili) and two June litters out of her daughter and granddaughter so we knew we were still carrying on her lines in our rabbitry.
On a particularly hot day in early July we lost Chili, Lil Frankie, and we almost lost Chunkybunky. Chunky is still with us, but has become a house rabbit with disabilities due to damage to her nervous system. We attribute her to saving our remaining herd. I was perhaps too emotionally involved in saving her after we lost her mom Bunnywunny along with the other rabbits carrying her lines forward and we took Chunky to the vet to assist us in knowing how to best care for her moving forward. Thanks to the vet who was treating Chunky, we found that her neurological damage was not from heat stroke, but was instead from e.cunniculi and exacerbated by the heat. Because of that discovery, we have been able to prevent the deaths of countless other rabbits in our herd by treating everyone for the parasite.

We do have a litter of six out of Chunky that we will be watching grow and we will keep back a buck and a doe from that litter to maintain our Bunnywunny line.
Chili was our only tort, with a lot of bulk to her build, but since we sold our original buck NiO to a family in Texas who wanted to get started with breeding the Alaska Red Foxes, we were really counting on her to continue our tort line. Truffle carries tort, and we will save back a tort buck and a doe from Chili's June litter of seven.

We lost Phillip our Chinchilla Mini Lop a few days after we took Chunky to the vet. He was alive at evening feeding and was dead the following morning. That further confirmed that it was not the heat alone causing our rabbit deaths. Another important note is that none of our other rabbits were wet around the mouth when they died, which is most often the case with heat stroke rabbits as they drool while open-mouth panting when they're in serious danger from the heat.

Fleur is the only rabbit we lost in the summer of 2022 and in hindsight, it may have been e.c. that killed her as well. She is the dam of Chili and was a rabbit with amazing depth and muscling.

Still Waters Bunnywunny
Bunnywunny was our absolute favorite breeding doe. She had the most amazing temperament that she passed to all of her offspring (we're up to great grandkids now). She was an amazing mom, often seen with her babies sitting on her back, doting over them day and night. She produced large kits with an excellent feed-to-meat conversion ratio. We kept Chunkybunky to replace her and following her summer litter, she was going to come live inside as a house rabbit. We were more than devastated to lose her.

Arbor House Chili
Chili was a daughter of Fleur's so when Fleur died unexpectedly, we decided to keep one of the torts from Fleur's first and only litter in hopes that she would grow into a breeding-worthy doe. Chili did just that, and had a wonderful litter this spring, sired by Trufflehunter. We had three torts in that first litter that quickly sold - these rare rabbits are becoming high-demand as word spreads about them. Chili produced a litter of seven, sired by a tort carrier belonging to our breeding mentor, before she died in early July. We will save two torts from that litter so we can keep her lines going in our rabbitry.
Arbor House Lil Frankie
Lil Frankie was our cutest baby of all time. He had the Bunnywunny personality and structure with Howard Frank's incredibly long and dense fur. He was so loved and doted on every single day and was probably handled more than any other rabbit we've owned.

Still Waters Tila
Tila had amazing structure and size, coupled with excellent fur type. We were looking forward to her offspring, but we're so thankful to get a niece of hers to continue working with her genetic lines.

HB's Peter
2022 Chinchilla Buck
Peter was a sweet rabbit. While we never got any offspring out of him, we consider it a significant loss to our mini lop breeding program since he was going to allow us to breed from two separate sire lines and we were looking forward to having chinchilla genetics to work with.

2021 Black Doe
Fleur was a tort carrier we saved from one of NiO's first litters. She had a lot of depth and width and, true to Bunnywunny's contributions to our genetics, really solid muscling through the loins.

Still Waters Blackbeard
2020 Black Buck
Blackbeard was our original herdsire. We kept back a Daisy Mae son, Howard Frank, and a Bunnywunny son, Bun Bun. Blackbeard was sold to a fellow breeder to help them get their rabbitry going.

Still Waters NiO
2020 Alaska Red Fox Buck
NiO was our first tort rabbit and we've bred a few generations out of him. We sold him this spring to a family in Texas who wanted to get started breeding the torts. We lost his tort granddaughter Chili this summer but she has a litter with five torts and we still have NiO's son Trufflehunter to continue our tort rabbits.

Wells Rocky Acre's Old Blue
2022 Blue Buck
We added Blue to have a blue buck for breeding to test does for dilute. Blue went to our County Fair show in mid-August and he got Best Opposite of Variety which he repeated at our fall NWARC show. He's such an incredibly sweet buck and we have his first litter freshly weaned. Blue is up for sale as we make room for younger stock we are saving back. We bred Blue to Judo before he left and she's due soon with some tort-carrying kits.
Wells Rocky Acre's Juniper
2022 Black Doe
Juniper came in this fall to help us get back in the business of producing rabbits. We lost a number of our breeding stock in the summer heat and it has taken a bit of effort to get things going again. Juniper has produced two lovely litters for us and we're ready to move her out now to make room for some kits we're hanging on to.

Mr. Confetti
MC is the sire of Lila and Zip Zap. He was a lovely rabbit with a friendly personality and although he didn't look like much he threw amazing babies. We sold him to a family this spring who wanted to add white rabbits to their Silver Fox herd.

Well's Rocky Acre Ivy
Ivy had nice structure and size. We sold her to a family who is getting started in breeding for meat and since she was a rabbit who had large litters and produced plenty of milk, she should do well as a homestead doe.

Arbor House Zip Zap
2022 REW Buck
Zip Zap is an incredibly sweet and friendly rabbit. He is out of Lila and sired by Mr. Confetti. His entire litter was built nicely and several did well at an ARBA show as juniors. We have retained Zip Zap for our breeding program to replace his sire and carry his genetics through to the next generation. ZZ carries chocolate and dilute as well, so he will continue his father's legacy of being able to sire all 5 colors of Silver Fox rabbits. He has already produced babies for us and we're seeing nice width in hips and shoulders of those kits. We bred Zip Zap to Alice and Liz for spring litters before he left.
